When you decide, to add a new family member to your home, its important to do your research to make sure it will be the right fit for not only your family, but also for your new best friend.
Whether you are an active family or a couch potato, there is a breed or mix that is the right fit for you! And remember, if your family is not as active as some, you can always consider an
older pet. Many of them come housetrained and are out of
their puppy stage which can make for an easy transition into your life style.
Remember, pet ownership is a lifetime commitment so please put a lot of time and thought into researching which type of pet fits best with your family.
At CCRC, our only focus when choosing which dogs we rescue is whether or not they have good family potential. We do not support breed specific legislation and we work hard to promote the adoption of good dogs into loving homes.
Unfortunately, there are still many communities who support breed specific legislation (i.e. banning certain breeds of dogs or restricting their ownership). If you live in a community that bans certain breeds of dogs, we unfortunately cannot adopt out those breeds in your area due to the local laws.
If you do not support breed specific legislation in your area, please make sure to write your elected officials making your stance on the subject known.
