Tank
Hello There Connie and the CCRC Gang,
It’s me, Tank. Sorry I have not written in awhile. My Mom has been busy. I just wanted to tell you all that I am doing GREAT ! ! ! My Mom says that I am an AWESOME BOY ! ! I was so good that I am no longer in a crate at all. I have run of the house while Mom is at work. I lay at the patio door and look out at the deer, turkey’s, birds and squirrels all day, I drool all over the door wall too, but Mom says it ok, she just keeps cleaning it up for me. I got to meet my Grandpa for the first time last week, I love him. He came home from Florida, he told me he is a snow-bird. I am really glad that he is home. He keeps me company all day while Mom is at work, or maybe I should say that I exercise him all day while Mom is at work.
Grandpa was changing the light on the flagpole and when he put the light cover down I took it and ran. Grandpa chased me all over the yard. I gave it back to him, then he put his water bottle down to put the light back together, yep, I took off with that too. Then it was his rag. I have fun with grandpa.I really like my new home and family. Thank you again for rescuing me and giving me a second chance. The pictures attached were taken last week. Yes, I love the sticks in the yard, we play fetch with them. Mom takes me for walks a lot and we have lots of fun.Every night I sleep with my Mom, she loves me a lot. Please tell everyone I said hello and that I hope they all get good homes ! ! Take Care and I will write again.
Love,
Happy Tanker

Tipper
My wife and I just left my mother’s house after dropping Tipper to my extremely happy mother. She has thanked us up and down in tears. And was just emotionally full again. Tipper latched to my mom like she knew that was her new Mommy. She
has been outside with her and in her arms as well as playing with her new toys for the past few hours. That puppy couldn't have gone to a better home, with all the love and time it is going to get there. My mom cherishes that puppy like you can't believe. We really couldn't have wished for a better experience. Connie was so helpful and made sure that we got exactly what we asked for. If I could refer you out, I would and will do in a heartbeat. We really can't thank you all enough, for really helping my mother heal from a rather heart breaking time in her life. Tipper is very playful, and follows my mother around all day, from her bed, to the couch and all over the yard. She is loving life, as is my Mom. Thank you, thank you, thank you. What a wonderful puppy and a wonderful experience getting her. Thank you again. All the best.

Rant
We had adopted a Pit Bull/Boston Terrier puppy from you guys at a Petsmart back in July. His name was Kokomo and he was brindle. He came out of a litter of six. I remember seeing him for the first time with his brother Buttons.
They were so adorable together and we were so excited to know that we might be leaving the store with one of them. Kokomo is now Rant! He is 13.9 pounds and is full of energy! His favorite thing to do is to play with his big brother Louis. Louis is teaching him how to fetch a tennis ball and bring it back. Rant likes to get the tennis ball and let Louis chase him though. =) We bought Rant his own bed but whenever we wake up in the morning he is snuggled up in the same bed as Louis. They truly do love each other. Rant is still working on commands and is a bit timid sometimes, but he is learning. He loves cuddling too! (updated: November 2010)

Gloria/Gracie
Let me tell you about Gloria's first week with us. The only thing that my family didn't like about her was her name so we have gradually changed it to Gracie. She now responds to it as if she'd had it since birth. Gracie has been too good to be true, we absolutely love her! She's smart, sweet, playful... everything we had hoped for and more. She was completely housebroken within a day, and obeys beautifully unless she sees another dog. Gracie has had daily
opportunities to play with other dogs, both at the dog parks and at our home when my boys bring their dogs over. There is a wonderful dog next door, Sparky, who has become her best buddy and they play as often as possible. Gracie definitely has problems with some men; once we got her home she was leery of my husband for a couple of days. But with some work and patience, she's completely accepted him and greets him happily when he comes home. Fortunately, she had no problems with my sons, perhaps because they came here with their dogs and Gracie was too distracted to notice them. When she barks at other men, I've tried some leash work with treats for good behavior and that seems to help. As you had said, she loves children and bonds instantly with women; she's my shadow and never wanders far from me. We had a big party Saturday night and she was the perfect co-host. Gracie is fine in her crate, especially at bedtime when she can't wait to go in and curl up. And, of course, she does love her toys. As soon as I round them up and put them all her her toybox, she methodically pulls them out and redistributes them around the house. Another favorite activity is playing with the hose or sprinkler. Gracie jumps to catch the water and will put her mouth right on the sprinkler to snap at it. She ends up soaked and, in this weather, that's fine. I could go on but I think you get the idea. My husband and I had so recently lost our last dog, I wasn't sure if I was quite ready to fall in love with a new one. But Gracie has put the smile back on my face and I look forward to spending each day with her. Thank you for taking the time to help us get to know Gracie. Your organization does a wonderful job, my vet was impressed with care she'd been given. Perhaps we'll be looking for a companion dog in the months to come. We'll certainly check out your available doggies. Best wishes, Nancy Dalgleish (Images prvided by CCRC)

Lexi
Lexi (formerly known as "Joy", a black lab/border collie mix) arrived to our home when she was very little and one day after she had been neutered. She was a bit distant at first. Now, after almost 4 months of being part of our family,
she is our daily joy along with his adopted brother, Max (chocolate lab). She has lots of energy and is a great companion to Max and to us. Extremely affectionate with all members of our family, she has both, the lab and the
collie in her. Many times, as young as she still is, she sits by the window or in our backyard deck and checks the yard for anything new, curious or intruder (her head moves like a submarine periscope, we say: "Lexi is doing the collie
thing"). She is extremely athletic and intelligent. We're looking forward to warm weather and more activities with her and Max, especially by the water.
